We made it! Its Week 6 of the One room Challenge. WOHOOO!!!!! Excitement is at an all time high but it came with the ultimate price.I got sick earlier this week, and have had to complete the install sick. I honestly did not think I was going to complete this challenge on time. But I did, and I am super happy with how everything turned out. So, let’s get into it Lifestyle Loft Family.
First of all welcome to our final reveal. For those of you that have been following along, this is the week we get to reveal what we have been working on for the past 6 weeks. For those that are new, WELCOME and thank you for stopping by. My name is Bilha and I am the Lead designer here at the Lifestyle Loft. You’r probably wondering what the One Room Challenge is all about.
So, Let’s get you all caught up! Earlier this spring I had seen designers and design bloggers taking part in something they called the one room challenge. I followed along all spring and got inspired by it. So much so that, when I saw the One Room Challenge advertise that they were looking for participants, I decided to apply. A couple of weeks later, I received approval take part in the Fall 2019 Session.
This challenge created by Linda Wenstein, and sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens, provides participants a space to make over a room of their choice and document it in a 6 week time frame. We are currently in Week 6, and are about to share our final reveal. But Before we do that…….

TO DO LIST
This week to do list included:
-Source Decor, Drapes, Bedding
Earlier this week I got to work with Jess Dyrda from Jess Dyrda Designs too repurpose my furniture. This was pretty fun and will post up a video on all the work that went into repurposing my dresser and nightstands.
I also did a lot of sourcing and shopping this week. Which is always the funnest part when working on design projects. To make things complicated for myself, I added an extra accent wall in the space. Because of these last minute changes, I did end up finding myself running out of time. All in all, it all worked out. I then ended my week with styling and shooting. But Before I can get to reveal my current Master Bedroom, let’s take a look at some before pics of the space.
My Master Bedroom was in dire need of a makeover. I had originally designed this room to be light and airy. White was my dominant color, and added accents of black, beige and gold. While, tone and tone was my goal, the design scheme was lacking in tone. The room lacked balance, symmetry and character. The white tones competed with one another. Most importantly, It did not feel like the elements in the room worked well.
Dont believe me? Take a look for yourself! Don’t You Agree?
My Goal for this makeover was to add colour, texture, add symmetry and balance in the space.
Mid Century Modern has been on my mind lately, and was what inspired the design of my master bedroom. While I had originally intended on adding mid century modern furniture, I looked for great pieces but couldn’t find what I had in mind. As a result, I repurposed my dresser, and purchased and repurposed the nightstands.
Even though I found myself pivoting from the original design scheme, I still found a way to add mid century modern elements in the decor.
Without further due, here is how it all turned out.
