We are falling in love with The Ordinary skin care brand for so many reasons. Amongst those reasons are; the products quality, affordable pricing, and have a wide range of products. As a line under the Deceim Umbrella, the ordinary brand utilizes technology that other brands use to raise their pricing.
We first heard about the ordinary brand and were instantly skeptical. The skin care rule is: The more you spend on a skin care product, the better the quality and integrity of the product. Or so we thought… So what is the catch? How can it be free of parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, not tested on animals, a lot of the products vegan and nut free and have an average price point under $20? YES, you heard that right!!! Most of the products are under $20. From Moisturizers, Retinols, Cleansers, even Make up, range from $5-$20.
We decided to give the products a try. Its been about 3 months and we can confidently say that the ordinary cosmetic products are definitely worth the HYPE!!!! Within one month the products delivered results that we were hoping for.
The goal was to not only create a regimen but add a product that would target hyper-pigmentation. The skin care professionals recommended to begin with their beginner set of products and then continue to build the regimen with stronger ingredients.
So far the products tried are:
Amino Acids + B5
It is a concentrated hydration formula with minimal hyralounic acid that is meant to add moisture and hydration to skin and targets hyper pigementation. For beginners, depending on your skin sensitivity, begin by incorporating your night time routine. And if used in your morning routine, to add an SPF.
Caffeine Solution 5% + egcg
The caffeine solution reduces the appearance of dark circles. It is meant to reduce pigmentation around the eye area and add puffiness. It definetely delivers on adding puffiness to hollow under eye area. As far as reducing pigmentation, the results are not as noticeable.
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%
This product is a derivative of Vitamin C that is meant to brighten and reduce hyper pigmentation. Its best to add it to your night time routine. It can be added to your morning routine. Finish it off with an SPF. Noticed some results for a Vitamin C product. It is a great product to begin, if you are intending to start using Vitamin C products.
The Foundation has great coverage and has a dewy finish. If you incorporate oils in your makeup foundation, it is recommended that you cut out the oil and use the foundation on its own. You must use a primer, to prevent cracking by the end of day. Consider the Hylamide HA Blur for a smoother skin surface finish. For a starter makeup brand, it needs more darker shades for People of Colour.
